Last year I received a spot in one of Mike Massey's lessons as a Christmas gift.  It was such an incredible experience.  Despite my skill and knowledge of the game as a SL 7, I learned more and improved more in those few hours than ever before......and it stuck.  I still remember everything Mike Massey taught me.  For the next couple months I was nearly unstoppable against players that I had been a toss up against before.

 

There were players there ranging from SL 3 to three SL 7s.  Mike Massey gave time devoted to each of us individually.  The help he gave us corresponded with our skill level and areas needing improvement.  He increased everyones ability to spin the ball.  He worked with our stances and strokes. 

 

He told us inside stories about his years on the road....it was like the movie The Hustler or The Color of Money was being narrated right in front of you, BY THE MAN WHO LIVED THE EVENTS HIMSELF.

 

He helped me with my jumping and I went from not being able to jump at all to being able to jump a ball just a couple inches from the cue ball in minutes.  He had every player there, regardless of skill level performing advanced techniques such as drawing the ball and jumping. 

 

He gave us insight into angles and spin off the rails that will make the cue ball do things you could never imagine it doing.  You will leave this lesson impressing your friends and winning more matches.

 

If you do not want to improve your skill level, knowledge of the game....or even enjoy one of the greatest players of all time, then avoid this lesson.  If you want to experience a once in a lifetime lesson with pool's version of Micheal Jordan then do whatever you can to get in on one of these lessons.

 

If you bring or buy his books and pool cues he will sign it for you.  Also, just an insiders tip....if you like country music, ask him to tell you about his skills as a country composer and recording artist. 

 

Those of you who know me will understand that I would not hype this up if it wasn't well worth it.  It is a whole different experience than seeing him in the exhibition, I promise you that.  If you enjoy golf I will make a comparison for you......I played St Andrews in Scotland last summer, the home of golf, and that merely tied Mike Massey's lesson as the coolest thing I did in the past year.  SO. WORTH. IT.
